Description

Hands-on Google Cloud Technical Lead/Lead Engineer responsible for developing Google Cloud Platform capabilities through solution design, team enablement, co-creation, and PoC/MVP implementations. You will define technology standards and future-state reference architectures, lead secure IAM design across Google Cloud, and drive infrastructure automation with Infrastructure as Code. The role ensures security, quality, and cost optimization are embedded by design and includes mentorship and platform documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Define technology standards and future-state Google Cloud Platform services (reference architectures, guiding principles, solution building blocks)
  • Collaborate with Product Owner, Scrum Master, system architects, and engineers to develop and operate platform services
  • Lead design and implementation of Identity and Access Management on Google Cloud (service accounts, organizational policies, modern authentication patterns)
  • Drive infrastructure automation and standardized provisioning with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and reusable modules)
  • Support engineers in building and maintaining new platform services, including hands-on automation best practices
  • Collaborate with FinOps stakeholders to embed billing visibility and cost control/optimization into platform services
  • Ensure security, compliance, and quality standards through design reviews, implementation validation, and continuous improvement
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to cloud best practices, patterns, and documentation
  • Build proofs of concept and proofs of value for new Google Cloud capabilities
  • Maintain high-quality cloud design documentation within the domain

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering roles with strong Google Cloud Platform focus
  • Extensive expertise in Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform
  • Understanding of cloud billing models, cost allocation, and cost optimization strategies for enterprise environments
  • Proficiency in scripting/troubleshooting using Python and Bash
  • Experience setting up enterprise-level account structures and security models in GCP
  • Familiarity with PaaS and containerized/serverless workloads (GKE, Cloud Run)
  • Experience operating cloud platforms at enterprise scale, balancing security, compliance, reliability, and performance
  • Knowledge of cloud delivery models and data integration architectures/patterns
  • Engineering/coding skills applied in agile environments
  • Knowledge of IT architecture methodologies (e.g., TOGAF) and IT service management processes (ITIL)
  • Track record in roadmapping, technical architecture design, solution definition, and project management
  • Experience with large international companies and global service providers
  • Strong leadership, documentation, and customer-facing skills
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as SAFe and Scrum
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher
