Description

Assist with home-based occupational therapy under the direction of a registered Occupational Therapist. You will evaluate patients’ functional status and home environment, help patients retrain lost daily skills, and maintain timely clinical documentation of changes and progress.

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluating patients’ functional status (muscle function, endurance, coordination, communication, self-care, work capacity, etc.) as delegated by the registered Occupational Therapist
• Assist in evaluating the home environment for hazards or barriers to independent living as delegated by the registered Occupational Therapist
• Teach new skills and retrain patients when daily activities are impacted by illness or injury, per organization policy
• Maintain clinical records and report patient condition changes to the registered Occupational Therapist
• Submit clinical documentation in accordance with policy (same day)
• Follow the treatment program and goals for improved patient function set by the registered Occupational Therapist
• Document patient response to the treatment plan and progress toward established goals

Requirements

• Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Assistant curriculum accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association
• Certified with the National Certification Examination of the American Occupational Therapy Association
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
• Current BLS CPR certification
