Description

Design, develop, test, and maintain non-connected tool control software in C# and .NET for a high-precision optical metrology instrument used in semiconductor manufacturing. Drive modularization of a mature, long-lived production codebase to improve reliability and maintainability, while strengthening automated testing and ensuring robust concurrent behavior. Troubleshoot complex issues across the software–hardware boundary and mentor other developers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain tool control software in C# and .NET

• Modularize a mature codebase without destabilizing production

• Implement robust concurrent code using multi-threading, locking/interlocking, and parallelism in .NET

• Apply TDD and expand automated testing, including tests that touch real hardware

• Conduct code reviews

• Mentor and coach mid-level developers

• Troubleshoot complex issues across the software and hardware boundary

Requirements

• Proficiency in C# and .NET with 3+ years of hands-on, senior-level experience on production systems

• Background in hardware-related development environments controlling, driving, or reading physical equipment

• Knowledge of OOP design, SOLID, design patterns, and Clean Code principles

• Expertise in Test-Driven Development and ownership of automated test suites

• Skills in multi-threading, locking/interlocking, and parallelism in .NET

• Experience refactoring and modularizing a long-lived legacy codebase

• English proficiency at B2 level or above
