Description

You will work on the data backbone that ingests, processes, stores, and powers analytics for customer behavior events. The platform must remain reliable, ordered, and correct under load while delivering low latency at high throughput. The role involves designing and building performant backend services and analyzing large datasets to produce insights.

Responsibilities

  • Develop architecture and design patterns for processing and storing high-volume event data
  • Build optimized, high-performance software
  • Translate functional and technical requirements into detailed designs
  • Analyze large data stores and uncover insights

Requirements

  • Programming skills in a JVM language (e.g., Java or Scala) with strong willingness to learn
  • Strong Scala skills and production experience using an effect system (Cats Effect, ZIO, or Akka/Pekko)
  • Working knowledge of Apache Kafka (partitioning, delivery guarantees, consumer groups, rebalance issues, consumer lag)
  • Basic experience with at least one web framework and understanding of how web applications work
  • Familiarity with SQL or NoSQL databases and basic database queries
  • Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) in daily work
  • Decent troubleshooting and analytical skills with a methodical approach
  • Passion for building tools and learning new technologies
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Preferred: GitHub/GitLab portfolio or personal projects
  • Preferred: Experience with microservices architecture
  • Preferred: Basic knowledge of AI/ML concepts
