Description

You will own key parts of the platform architecture and help evolve the technology stack, delivering both backend and modern frontend implementations. The role focuses on WordPress-based customer portals, maintaining and extending a Magento 2 installation with custom plugins, and improving existing codebases through reviews and refactoring. You will also actively integrate AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) into the development workflow and help define the strategy for gradually applying AI to the entire codebase.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the strategy for step-by-step AI support across the full codebase

• Use AI tools in daily development (code generation, reviews, refactoring)

• Develop approaches to safely migrate and modernize legacy codebases with AI

• Establish and document best practices for AI-assisted workflows within the team

• Perform code reviews, refactoring, and quality assurance

• Design, develop, and operate WordPress-based customer portals

• Develop and maintain PHP backends and modern frontends using current technologies

• Extend and maintain the Magento installation and its custom plugins

• Collaborate closely with product owners, design, and other developers

Requirements

• Several years of experience with PHP 8.x (OOP, modern standards)

• Strong WordPress skills: plugins, themes, and API development

• Secure handling of MySQL or MariaDB

• Knowledge of REST and/or GraphQL APIs

• Safe use of JavaScript and TypeScript

• Solid knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3 (Sass/SCSS preferred)

• Experience with Vue.js and React

• Familiarity with modern build tools such as composer and npm

• Skilled use of Git (GitHub or GitLab)

• Basic knowledge of Docker

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines

• Linux knowledge and experience with Composer

• Practical experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code and the Anthropic API

• Familiarity with GitHub Copilot and/or Cursor

• Interest in AI-supported code reviews and automated workflows

• Experience or a strong willingness for prompt engineering for developer workflows
