Software Engineer (Java)

Join the R&D team developing software solutions for telecommunications and optical networking systems. Work across the full software development lifecycle, building Java applications on Linux platforms and contributing to network management, data transport, and optical networking solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java applications and services.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software defects.
• Develop and execute unit and integration tests.
• Perform code reviews and improve software quality.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, and engineering teams.
• Use AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong Java knowledge (11/17/21).
• Understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns, and software architecture.
• Experience with REST APIs, distributed applications, Git, and JUnit.
• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD practices, and software quality processes.
• Comfortable working in a Windows-based corporate environment using Microsoft Office and Teams.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of microservices and cloud-native technologies.
• Understanding TCP/IP networking, client-server applications, and network management technologies.
• Experience with message brokers and event-driven architectures.
• Knowledge of Python or Bash scripting.

Nice to Have

• Experience in telecommunications, networking, or transport networks.
• Familiarity with YANG, NETCONF, RESTCONF, TAPI, and service orchestration solutions.
• Understanding of optical networking technologies and standards, such as DWDM and G.709/OTN.
• Experience in international research or standardization projects.
