Senior DevOps Engineer

About the Role

Join a long-term infrastructure and platform engineering programme supporting a global financial institution. The role focuses on automation, CI/CD, Linux administration, container platforms, infrastructure support, and environment management within a complex enterprise environment.

Work closely with Development, Infrastructure, and Support teams to improve application reliability, deployment processes, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain business-critical applications across enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Develop automation solutions using Bash, Python, and Groovy.
• Manage development, test, and production environments.
• Support containerised applications running on Kubernetes and OpenShift.
• Implement and maintain infrastructure automation using Ansible.
• Investigate application and infrastructure issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment, monitoring, and operational processes.

Requirements

Essential

• Strong Linux administration experience.
• Commercial experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience containerising applications using Docker or Podman.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible.
• Strong Bash scripting skills.
• Python scripting experience.
• Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline experience.
• Git version-control experience.
• Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

• OpenShift experience.
• AWS or Azure cloud exposure.
• Artifactory or Nexus experience.
• PostgreSQL experience.
• Financial services, banking, or capital markets experience.
