Data Warehouse Developer (SQL Server)

About the role

We're looking for an experienced Data Warehouse Developer to join a remote project in the insurance domain. You'll play a key role in maintaining and enhancing an existing data warehouse environment, designing data integration processes, and improving database performance.

This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working with large datasets, building efficient ETL solutions, and optimizing SQL Server environments.

Your responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a Microsoft SQL Server-based data warehouse
• Design, build and improve ETL/ELT workflows using SSIS
• Write, test and optimize SQL queries and T-SQL stored procedures
• Design and extend data models to support business needs
• Analyze data sources and integrate them into the warehouse
• Monitor and improve database and query performance
• Work closely with technical team members to deliver reliable data solutions
• Troubleshoot data-related issues and implement performance improvements
• Contribute to OLAP models and reporting solutions when needed

What we're looking for

• At least 5 years of experience in a Data Warehouse or SQL Server development role
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server
• Practical knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• Advanced SQL and T-SQL skills
• Experience designing relational database and data warehouse structures
• Strong understanding of database optimization and performance tuning
• Previous experience working on projects within the insurance industry

Nice to have

• Experience gathering and translating business requirements
• Knowledge of Cognos or MicroStrategy
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL or other relational databases
