Lead Python Engineer (#5602)

N-iX is looking for a Lead Python Engineer to join the team.

The Comms Platform team manages mission-critical services that power transactional communication with customers — email, SMS, and push notifications. These services are central to the organization’s success and sustainability, requiring precision, proactive maintenance, and rapid response to ensure seamless operations.

The team is driving high-priority initiatives including platform re-architecture and modernization, high availability, and internationalization. These efforts are vital for organizational growth and competitiveness and require strong technical leadership to deliver efficiently and effectively. Customers deserve timely, reliable, and high-quality communications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and launch of backend systems at scale using Python and Kotlin (or Java).
• Architect and maintain highly available distributed systems leveraging AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Define and drive technical plans for significant features and system components, ensuring elegant, simple, and extensible designs.
• Mentor engineers, review code, and establish best practices for safe and efficient changes in large codebases.
• Collaborate with product owners and global engineering teams to align technical solutions with business goals.
• Ensure proactive monitoring, maintenance, and swift incident response for critical communication services.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience designing and developing backend systems at scale.
• Strong expertise in Python and Kotlin.
• Proven track record with distributed systems and cloud-native technologies: AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Experience leading technical planning and delivering complex features with extensible design.
• Ability to guide teams in making impactful changes in large codebases safely and efficiently.
• Strong communication and leadership skills to foster collaboration across global teams.
• English level at least Upper-Intermediate.
