Description

As an Infrastructure Administrator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration, support, monitoring, and maintenance of server and infrastructure environments across on-premises and cloud platforms. You will help ensure stability, availability, and operational continuity of core infrastructure services in a managed services model. This role combines hands-on administration, troubleshooting, patching, backup, documentation, and close cooperation with Service Desk, infrastructure teams, and customers in an ITIL-aligned environment.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure environments
  • Support server, storage, virtualization, backup, and monitoring solutions in production environments
  • Perform routine maintenance, patching, updates, and configuration changes in line with operational procedures
  • Troubleshoot incidents and infrastructure-related issues to restore services and minimize downtime
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation, configuration records, and operational knowledge base materials
  • Work closely with Service Desk and other technical teams to ensure effective ticket handling and escalation
  • Support continuous improvement of infrastructure services and operational standards

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Very good knowledge of on-premises infrastructure based on Windows Server technologies, including Active Directory, File Server, and Certificate Services
  • Strong background in configuration and management of at least one virtualization platform: VMware, Hyper-V, or Proxmox
  • Hands-on experience with backup and monitoring solutions
  • Experience in server, application, and database migrations
  • Knowledge of Azure public cloud
  • Fluent English at a minimum B2 level

  • Familiarity with administration of Linux-based operating systems
  • Willingness and readiness to communicate directly with customers while handling and resolving support requests
  • Customer-focused, problem-solving mindset with the ability to understand and empathize with the customer’s perspective
  • Patience, attention to detail, and composure in high-pressure or crisis situations
  • Experience working in an SLA-driven support or managed services environment
  • Familiarity with ITIL-based incident, request, change, and escalation processes
  • German language skills
