Romania - Cloud Operations / Platform

As a freelance Cloud / Platform Operations Engineer, you can be involved in assignments as an expert advisor, as part of a delivery team, or as a trusted consultant embedded within a client organization.

Main Responsibilities

• Operate, scale, and secure AWS-based production platforms
• Support containerized workloads running on ECS Fargate
• Manage and operate large-scale or scheduled workloads using AWS Batch
• Ensure secure access management using IAM, including roles, policies, permission boundaries, and cross-account access
• Operate and support Windows Server environments at scale
• Manage Active Directory and its integration with AWS Directory Services
• Participate in on-call rotations, incident handling, and root-cause analysis
• Collaborate closely with application, data, and infrastructure teams

Key Requirements

• Strong general AWS knowledge, including networking, security, monitoring, and cost awareness
• Hands-on experience with ECS Fargate and AWS Batch
• Solid understanding of IAM concepts and best practices
• Operational experience with Windows Server environments
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory
• Experience supporting production systems and handling incidents
• Strong English communication skills

Related Technologies / Domain Knowledge

• Familiarity with AWS data and ETL platforms, including Athena, Glue, and data lakes
• Experience with relational databases and SQL, preferably MSSQL
• Experience with Python or scripting for automation and operational tooling

Nice to Have

• Experience with event-driven or streaming architectures, including Kafka and Flink
• Exposure to non-relational or column-oriented datastores
