Senior Software Engineer (Payment Experiences Engineering)

The Repayment Scheduling engineering team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Backend development. The team builds and owns the system that enables users to automate payments, handling up to $40B each year, including payment configuration and orchestration.

The work is agile and fast-paced, with new code shipped to production every two-week sprint and impact rigorously measured. This role rewards curiosity, ownership, and a builder's mindset, offering the opportunity to learn from experienced teammates while solving problems at scale.

What You'll Do

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team; lead engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems and support delivery.
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle, including ideation, technical constraints, risks, and trade-offs.
• Proactively identify project, process, technology, or business issues; advocate for and lead their resolution.
• Support operations and availability by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and contributing to keep the lights on and on-call efforts.
• Foster quality and ownership by setting or improving code-review and design standards, and advocating for them through writing and tech talks.
• Develop team talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example.

What We Look For

• 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using languages such as Python or Kotlin.
• Track record of developing highly available distributed systems using technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Experience defining a technical plan for delivery of a significant feature or system component with an elegant, simple, and extensible design.
• Ability to write high-quality code that is easily understood and used by others.
• Proficiency making significant changes in a large codebase, supported by tools and practices that enable safe delivery.
• Ownership of professional growth, including proactively seeking feedback from teammates, managers, and stakeholders.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Pay Grade: N
Equity Grade: 4

Employees new to the role typically start at the beginning of the pay range. Base pay is part of a total compensation package and is based on factors including experience and job-related skills.

POL base pay range per year: 308,000 zł – 428,000 zł
