  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical design, define clear interfaces between teams, and clarify responsibilities before work begins.

Testing mindset

  • Considers how a feature should be tested as part of its design.
  • Identifies happy paths, edge cases, and failure scenarios within the product context.
  • Understands where unit, integration, and end-to-end tests add value and writes them as part of delivery.

Documentation

  • Documents decisions, designs, and non-obvious behaviour so teammates can understand and maintain the work.
  • Keeps technical documentation practical and up to date.

Communication

  • Clear, concise written and verbal communicator.
  • Can explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders, give and receive feedback constructively, and raise concerns early.
  • Keeps teammates informed without being asked.

Prioritisation and pragmatism

  • Manages time and scope effectively.
  • Delivers solutions that are clean, maintainable, fit for purpose, and meet requirements.

English proficiency

  • Strong written and spoken English for daily collaboration, documentation, code reviews, and cross-team communication.
