Lead Software QA Automation Engineer

As a Lead Software QA Automation Engineer, you will foster a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Department Leadership and Development

• Lead, inspire, and mentor a team of QA professionals, fostering an environment of growth and collaboration.
• Provide mentorship and development opportunities to team members, designing and implementing effective training paths to enhance their skills and career progression.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and supporting individual development plans.
• Champion a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the QA team.

Test Automation Mastery & Strategy

• Leverage deep expertise in test automation to define and implement robust automation strategies and frameworks.
• Drive the adoption of cutting-edge automation tools and best practices to enhance efficiency and test coverage.

Stakeholder Communication

• Act as the primary point of contact for all QA-related matters, effectively communicating with cross-functional teams, including Development, Product Management, and Senior Leadership.
• Collaborate closely with development teams to integrate QA processes seamlessly into the software development lifecycle.

Process Management and Continuous Improvement

• Establish, monitor, and refine QA processes and methodologies to ensure optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
• Identify areas for improvement within the QA function and implement data-driven solutions.
• Assist with the fine-tuning and implementation of QA audits within various client teams.

Ad Hoc Tasks

• Undertake and manage ad hoc projects and responsibilities as required by evolving departmental needs.

What you’ll need to succeed

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 15–20 years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance, with a significant portion in a leadership or management capacity.
• Demonstrable mastery of test automation principles, frameworks such as Playwright and Cypress, testing tools, and experience architecting and scaling automation solutions.
• Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive training and development programs for QA professionals at various skill levels.
• Extensive experience leading, mentoring, and growing QA teams while fostering a positive, high-performance culture.
• Deep understanding of Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies; Functional, Non-Functional, Performance, Security, and Usability testing; and Unit, Integration, System, and UAT testing.
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all organizational levels.
