AI Architect

Grid Dynamics is looking for an experienced AI Architect to join its CTO team, focusing on AI for Customer Experience and Agentic AI solutions. This strategic role combines deep technical expertise in AI/ML with leadership and communication skills to drive innovation from concept to production. You will drive pre-sales engagements, lead R&D initiatives to develop next-generation offerings, serve as a trusted advisor to enterprise customers, and lead the design and implementation of cutting-edge AI solutions for key projects as an architect.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support AI pre-sales activities, assessments, and discovery workshops.
• Plan AI projects for Fortune-1000 enterprises and lead AI/ML engineering teams on client accounts and consulting engagements.
• Build hands-on POCs and prototypes to demonstrate solution capabilities during pre-sales processes.
• Create and bring enterprise AI and generative AI solutions to market.
• Drive innovation through R&D on industry trends; lead R&D teams; develop assets and solution strategy across industries.
• Build prototypes and proof-of-concepts to validate new approaches and technologies.
• Lead discovery phases and initial development for new AI projects and programs, establishing technical foundations and team structure.
• Work with the delivery organization to ensure appropriate tools, technologies, and processes continuously improve AI/ML solution quality and efficiency.
• Contribute to AI practice growth through training courses, skill trees, mentoring, and hiring for technical leadership roles.
• Develop relationships with technology partners including GCP, AWS, Azure, and NVIDIA.

Minimum Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience developing production-grade AI/ML and data systems.
• Proven technical leadership as a Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, or Software Architect.
• Proficiency in Python and its ecosystem for web development, AI/ML, and data engineering.
• Hands-on Deep Learning experience, including NLP, Computer Vision, and frameworks such as PyTorch and Huggingface.
• Deep LLM expertise: open- and closed-source models, advanced prompt engineering, RAG, Agentic AI, document processing, vector/hybrid search, guardrails, observability, monitoring, fine-tuning, and evaluation metrics.
• Strong expertise in at least one major cloud platform—GCP, AWS, or Azure—related ML platforms such as Vertex AI, and MLOps best practices.
• Experience delivering complex AI/ML projects or programs from POC to production, including continuous improvement and support.
• Practical end-to-end engineering experience beyond AI/ML, including frontend, backend, data engineering, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability.
• Experience defining and setting up project SDLC.
• Deep domain knowledge in Finance, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Life Sciences, or Retail.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to lead discussions with clients and other teams.
• Proficiency using AI tools across UX design, solution architecture, market research, and coding to improve productivity and innovation.
