About the Role

The Principal AI Consultant leads the development of machine learning systems that optimize engineering processes and improve operational effectiveness. Working within a dedicated AI team, this role collaborates with departments across the organization to identify high-impact challenges, create scalable AI solutions, and embed them in enterprise platforms to achieve measurable business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders across business, engineering, operations, and IT to define problems, gather requirements, and translate strategic goals into technical solutions
  • Lead cross-functional teams delivering AI/ML projects aligned with key business metrics, while contributing directly to technical development and system integration
  • Drive experimentation, validation, and refinement to ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, and deliver measurable performance and efficiency improvements
  • Implement feedback loops and continuous tuning mechanisms to improve deployed systems over time
  • Promote AI/ML best practices, including reproducibility, version control, model governance, and responsible AI principles
  • Stay current with AI/ML research and apply innovations to real-world technical and operational challenges
  • Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical mastery

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
  • 7+ years of experience designing, developing, and deploying AI/ML solutions in production environments, including full system integration
  • Proven success delivering scalable Generative AI solutions from prototyping through deployment and performance evaluation
  • Expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs), including prompting techniques and inference optimization
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with AI/ML workloads on public cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, including compute, orchestration, and deployment services
  • Advanced Python programming skills, including OOP, TDD, and clean coding principles
  • Strong foundation in ML system architecture, including data pipelines, lifecycle management, monitoring, and MLOps best practices
  • Ability to work across disciplines and lead technical discussions with data scientists, engineers, product owners, and operational teams
