Junior Infrastructure Engineer (with German)

Your role

You will be part of a team responsible for customer communication, ticket handling, status updates, and infrastructure monitoring for clients in the public and transportation sectors. Your role will focus on receiving and coordinating customer requests, keeping clients informed about incidents and events affecting their infrastructure, and performing daily administrative and operational tasks in cloud environments and business-critical platforms. You will work closely with engineers and consultants, supporting the maintenance of highly available systems that are essential to ensuring operational continuity.

Your tasks

  • Collaborate with engineers to maintain and support customer infrastructure, including cloud-based services and environments.
  • Perform day-to-day operational and maintenance activities (RUN) to ensure service availability and stability.
  • Communicate with customers through a ticketing system, following ITIL best practices for incident and service request management.
  • Manage task priorities and coordinate assigned activities in accordance with agreed service levels (SLAs).
  • Monitor customer infrastructure using dedicated monitoring tools, analyze alerts, and escalate issues when required.
  • Work in cloud environments and text-based systems through command-line interfaces (CLI).
  • Cooperate closely with other team members to troubleshoot incidents, resolve operational issues, and ensure service continuity.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing monitoring, operational processes, automation, and overall efficiency.

Your profile

  • Familiarity with administering and maintaining cloud services, preferably STACKIT, Azure, AWS, or similar platforms.
  • Experience working with monitoring tools and understanding of best practices for customer communication and collaboration.
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and procedures, particularly incident, problem, and change management.
  • Strong organizational and task-management skills.
  • Proactive mindset and willingness to continuously learn and develop new skills.
  • Experience with various operating systems and comfort using Linux/Unix command-line environments.
  • Fluent German language skills at B2+ level or higher.
