Jira Administrator

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Jira Site Administrator to take full ownership of our Jira Cloud environment within a regulated healthcare context. In this role, you will lead platform governance, drive system optimizations, configure tailored workflows, and ensure seamless integrations across enterprise tools. You will serve as the core subject matter expert, aligning Atlassian tools with cross-functional business needs while maintaining top-tier security and operational compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the end-to-end management, health, and security of the Jira Cloud ecosystem and Atlassian suite.
• Design, build, and maintain custom workflows, field schemes, permission structures, screens, and automated rules.
• Manage user access, role assignments, and global security groups in line with compliance standards.
• Lead system upgrades, feature deployments, and ongoing platform architecture improvements.
• Establish, document, and enforce global Atlassian administration standards and operational best practices.
• Eliminate system redundancies and ensure configuration consistency across all project spaces.
• Proactively identify process bottlenecks and implement smart automation to boost organizational efficiency.
• Serve as the primary Tier-2/Tier-3 contact for complex Jira configuration requests and system troubleshooting.
• Develop training resources, conduct onboarding sessions, and foster tool adoption across agile teams.
• Maintain native and API-based integrations between Jira Cloud, Confluence, and third-party enterprise tools.
• Partner with IT and Security teams to audit system performance, access controls, and usage trends.

Qualifications & Expertise

• Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience managing complex, enterprise-level Jira Cloud environments supporting multi-team structures.
• Governance: Proven track record of designing, implementing, and enforcing platform governance frameworks.
• Technical Proficiency: Deep expertise in Jira Cloud architecture, advanced workflow configuration, Atlassian automation, custom fields, and permission schemes.
• Integrations & Data: Strong understanding of Jira-to-Confluence integrations, reporting/dashboarding features, and basic familiarity with REST APIs.
• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the confidence to guide cross-functional stakeholders through technical choices.
• English: B2+/C1
