Work model: Hybrid from Gdańsk (1 day per week from the office)

Project

You will work on a fintech solution focused on complex financial instruments and calculations. The team builds and maintains Java-based backend services and APIs supporting financial reporting, cash flow calculations, and monthly statements.

The role involves end-to-end feature delivery, including occasional work on frontend layers (Angular or similar), as well as integrations with third-party services. The project emphasizes accuracy, reliability, and the use of AI coding tools in daily development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services and APIs in Java
• Deliver end-to-end features, such as financial reports, cash statements, and calculations
• Work across the stack, including frontend layers (Angular or similar) when needed
• Integrate systems with frontend applications and third-party services
• Participate in code reviews and ensure high code quality standards
• Support CI/CD pipelines and production releases
• Actively use AI coding tools (agentic coding, Copilot, Cursor) in the daily workflow

Expected competences and knowledge

• At least 5 years of experience in backend or full-stack development
• Strong proficiency in Java
• Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and HTTP integrations
• Basic hands-on experience with frontend frameworks (Angular, React, or similar)
• Solid knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis)
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
• Active usage of AI coding tools (required)
• Experience in fintech or the financial domain (highly preferred)

Nice to have

• Experience with microservices architecture
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with automated testing
