Senior AI Engineer (AI Factory)

Description

The Reusable AI team supports scalable Agentic AI and API solutions, internal initiatives, and reusable tools and services for data scientists.

As a Senior AI Engineer and Technical Lead for Reusable AI, you will:

• Lead technical and architectural decisions, including the balance between services, reusable components, and external contributions.
• Collaborate with the project manager to understand user needs and ensure solutions meet business requirements.
• Oversee development and infrastructure for AI services, such as a Translation service, and provide templates for AI processing pipelines.
• Work with the IPA team on API backend capabilities and with the GenAI team to integrate and consolidate inherited services.
• Assess technical capacity and ensure team resources and skills meet project needs.
• Evaluate product cost-effectiveness and long-term economic sustainability.
• Implement product-adoption metrics and use insights to guide future improvements.

As a Senior AI Engineer, you will:

• Create and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to support efficient deployments and high-quality code delivery.
• Develop and maintain robust Python code for algorithmic processing, AI functionality, and ETL pipelines across Azure ML, Azure Databricks, Google Vertex AI, Google Cloud Run, Azure Kubernetes Service, and Azure Container Apps.
• Ensure compliance with network, firewall, and security specifications in the cloud environment.
• Design solutions for technical challenges and foster team collaboration and creativity.
• Collaborate with infrastructure and cloud teams to ensure software is compatible with cloud-platform constraints.
• Work with Customer Solutions Engineering to create valuable, usable AI Factory user experiences.
• Participate in a lightweight SCRUM team and collaborate with other teams and external partners through the Scaled Agile Framework.

Job Qualifications

• Very good Python development skills.
• Knowledge of at least one cloud environment: Azure, GCP, or AWS.
• Good knowledge of CI/CD processes; GitHub experience is not required.
• Practical experience with test-driven development.
• Experience using Docker.
• Kubernetes experience as an applications developer is a plus.
