Functional Safety Engineer (f/m/x)

Join a global engineering organization delivering safety solutions for the automotive industry. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with Functional Safety standards, including ISO 26262, throughout the product lifecycle—from concept to validation.

Tasks

• Support compliance with Functional Safety standards across the product development lifecycle.
• Create and maintain Functional Safety documentation and work products.
• Define and manage Functional Safety Plans and Safety Concepts.
• Conduct hazard analysis and risk assessment (HARA).
• Perform safety analyses, including FTA, FMEA, FMEDA, and DFMECA.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align safety requirements.
• Support verification and validation activities for safety-critical systems.
• Manage safety cases and track open issues and corrective actions.
• Ensure alignment with customer requirements and internal processes, including ASPICE and ISO standards.
• Support change management and re-use analysis in safety-related projects.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in Functional Safety within automotive electronics.
• Practical knowledge of ISO 26262 and safety lifecycle processes.
• Understanding of system, hardware, and software engineering domains.
• Experience with safety analysis methods, including FTA, FMEA, and FMEDA.
• Familiarity with automotive safety mechanisms and electronic reliability.
• Fluent English communication skills in an international environment.
• Degree in Mechanical, Electronics, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Ability to work in cross-functional and global teams.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive, collaborative approach with a strong sense of ownership.
