Senior Distributed Systems Engineer / Tech Lead

We are looking for Senior Engineers to support the Bidding Platform organization, the core of the business, processing over 20 million requests per second to participate in real-time auctions and display advertisements to customers from 90+ countries. Senior Engineers combine deep technical expertise with a strong sense of ownership and take on Tech Lead roles in complex, cross-team projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead implementation of system changes that deliver high performance, scalability and observability for displaying and tracking ads worldwide.
• Develop tools and optimizations to drive measurable improvements in critical user performance metrics.
• Implement, test, deploy, monitor and maintain HTTP/gRPC services and batch jobs in Java and Python, including environment setup, configuration code and production monitoring, while meeting high engineering standards.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership by solving complex system challenges, participating in project planning and scoping, and ensuring high coding standards through code reviews.

Requirements

• Excellent understanding of complex IT systems, from hardware through software to algorithms.
• Very good knowledge of fundamental Internet protocols and technologies, including DNS, HTTP and cookies.
• Good knowledge of concurrent programming and distributed systems, from threads to geo-distributed clusters.
• Practical ability to observe, monitor and analyze production systems and draw conclusions from findings.
• Ability to critically analyze performance, from theoretical system-performance estimation to detecting and resolving production issues.
• General knowledge of typical issues and solutions related to high scalability and high availability.
• C1 level English and Polish.

Nice to have

• Experience in AdTech/Real Time Bidding.
• Experience contributing to Real User Monitoring (RUM) systems.
