As a Staff Research Team Lead, you will lead a small team of 4–8 ML researchers while staying deeply hands-on. ML is central to the role, with a strong, immediate impact on core metrics.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring technical performance at the level of a Staff ML Researcher, while owning the team’s direction, growth, and delivery. You will lead research projects with high scope and ambiguity.

Key Responsibilities and Skills

• Solve unclear problems by identifying the core issue, defining goals and success measures, and finding effective solutions.
• Build applied ML systems for production: write code, train models, run experiments, and ship solutions with real-world impact.
• Take a results-oriented approach, starting simple and using complex tools only when necessary to achieve elegant solutions.
• Manage 4–8 researchers by setting direction, prioritizing projects, removing blockers, and developing team members through feedback and mentorship.
• Identify high-potential projects, create and communicate a vision to stakeholders, and execute through the team.
• Own projects end to end, from conception, analysis, research, and proof of concept through testing, implementation, and deployment.
• Collaborate effectively with others, communicate clearly, and organize work efficiently.
