About the project
For our Client, we are looking for an experienced Manual Test Engineer to join a team responsible for ensuring the quality of key business applications. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys backend and data-focused testing, has strong SQL skills, and likes working closely with developers, analysts, and Product Owners in an Agile environment. You will be responsible for validating business processes, testing data flows, identifying defects, and ensuring high-quality software delivery.
Your responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and execute manual functional, integration and regression tests.
- Perform backend and data validation testing.
- Create and execute SQL queries to verify data quality, investigate issues and validate application behaviour.
- Test REST and SOAP APIs.
- Analyse application logs, database records and backend processes to identify defects and root causes.
- Create and maintain test documentation, including test cases, test scenarios and test reports.
- Report, monitor and verify defects throughout their lifecycle using Jira (or similar tools).
- Work closely with developers, analysts and Product Owners to clarify requirements and improve product quality.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum and PI Planning.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and testing standards.
We are looking for someone who has
- Minimum 3 years of commercial experience as a Manual Tester or QA Engineer.
- Strong SQL skills, including writing complex queries (JOIN, GROUP BY, subqueries).
- Experience testing backend systems or data-intensive applications.
- Practical knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server or MySQL.
- Experience testing REST and/or SOAP APIs.
- Ability to analyse business and technical requirements.
- Experience working with Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail or similar tools.
- Good understanding of software testing techniques and best practices.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
- Good English communication skills (minimum B2).
Nice to have
- Experience with Postman.
- Basic knowledge of Python, Java or Selenium.
- Experience with test automation.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
