Job description
We are looking for a Test Engineer to join our team responsible for ensuring the quality of key business applications. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in software testing, strong SQL skills, and practical knowledge of working with relational databases. The role focuses on functional testing, data validation, and backend process analysis.
 
Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and execute manual tests (functional, integration, regression).

  • Perform data-focused testing, including validation of data flows, transformations, and backend processing.

  • Write and execute SQL queries to validate data, investigate issues, verify test results, and support testing activities.

  • Experience testing APIs (REST, SOAP).

  • Analyze application logs and database data to identify potential defects and root causes.

  • Create and maintain test documentation (test cases, test scenarios, test reports).

  • Collaborate closely with developers, analysts, and Product Owners to understand requirements and resolve issues efficiently.

  • Report and track defects throughout their lifecycle (using Jira or similar tools).

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and overall product quality.

  • Participation in scrum ceremonies (PI Planning, Sprint Planning, Daily, etc.)

 
Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Manual Tester / QA Engineer.

  • Strong SQL knowledge, including ability to write complex queries (JOINs, subqueries, GROUP BY).

  • Experience testing backend systems or data-driven applications.

  • Hands-on experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL).

  • Ability to analyze business and technical requirements.

  • Experience working with tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, or TestRail.

  • Strong test documentation skills.

  • Good understanding of testing techniques (equivalence partitioning, boundary value analysis, etc.).

  • Solid organizational skills and ability to work independently.

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

 
Nice to Have

  • Basic knowledge of test automation tools (e.g., Postman, Python, Java, Selenium).

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
