The AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) Computing Lab focuses on solving complex system-level challenges for future AI/ML workloads through scalable and energy-efficient computing platforms.

The team collaborates across hardware and software engineering disciplines to address AI/ML computing challenges and explore new computing abstractions for next-generation systems.

Location: Daily onsite presence at the San Jose, CA office in alignment with the Flexible Work policy.

What You'll Do

  • Develop verification infrastructure and automation environments for build, simulation, regression, and triage.
  • Lead verification for AI accelerator IP blocks in collaboration with architects and RTL engineers.
  • Create direct or random testbenches and define verification scope and test plans for functional and performance validation.
  • Provide documentation for verification strategies and maintain easy-to-use test environments.
  • Mentor junior engineers when necessary.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to debug failures with design, compiler, and simulation engineers.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years, Master’s degree with 8+ years, or PhD with 5+ years of industry experience.
  • Strong background in SoC or IP verification and testbench development using UVM, SystemVerilog, C/C++, and Perl/Python.
  • Experience verifying logic at multiple levels, from IP blocks to full systems.
  • Strong RTL understanding and debugging skills.
  • Experience with computational logic, interconnect networks, or memory systems is desirable.
  • Strong background in microarchitecture and computer architecture, preferably AI accelerators.
  • Knowledge of FPGA and emulation platforms preferred.

What You'll Do - Adapting torch.compile to our backend: lowering Inductor's IR to our hardware, defining what gets fused, what gets specialized, and where the compiler should yield to hand-written kernels. - Building or extending kernel DSLs for our hardware: taking a tile-based programming model (Triton-style), a higher-level expression (Helion-style), or a custom DSL we design, and lowering it to our ISA, our memory hierarchy, and our collective primitives. Where existing DSLs' GPU assumptions break, deciding what to change in the frontend, the IR, or the backend. - Designing placement and scheduling passes: given a graph and our distributed memory model, deciding where tensors live, when to migrate them, and how to overlap compute with data movement. What You'll Do Manage Enterprise server infrastructure, execute Customer Qual tests and debug failures Execution of enterprise SSD qualifications in customer systems. Communicate with team lead to understand qualification processes and test plans. Report status of qualifications and manage customer expectations. Coordinate with internal team and customer test engineers to execute qual plans as per schedule. Teams will be both local and remote. Triage test failures and do a first level FA.
