As a Junior Automotive Engineer at our 327-acre Auto Test Center, you will report to the Director, Auto Test Development. You'll work closely with Auto Testers, Data Intelligence, Content, Video, and Communications teams to test, capture, and record digital vehicle-related content that contributes to evaluating over 50 vehicles per year.

This is an onsite position in Colchester, CT and is not eligible for sponsorship or relocation assistance.

How You'll Make An Impact

The testing and feedback shared by auto testers is critical information relied on by consumers and auto manufacturers. Your knowledge of automotive industry trends and emerging technologies will contribute to how we test, capture, and record influential vehicle data.

  • Assist in ensuring up-to-date and accurate data regarding running changes, software updates, specifications, and crash test results in the database.
  • Review videos and road test reports and flag content requiring updates due to vehicle refreshes or software changes.
  • Monitor the physical test fleet for Over-the-Air (OTA) updates, track version changes, and evaluate software impact on results and vehicle behavior.
  • Evaluate vehicles, contribute insights, and write concise testing reports.
  • Flag industry developments to support content discussions.
  • Provide market data and retail trends insights to the Cars Content team.
  • Fact-check automotive data and content for accuracy.
  • Assist in purchasing and tracking delivery of new test vehicles.
  • Review copy for online, video, magazine, and other automotive products.
  • Support the Autos product team with automotive retail knowledge.

About You

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Applied Science or equivalent.
