About the Role
Provide compassionate, skilled hospice care while enjoying a predictable schedule that supports life outside of work. As a Hospice After Hours Registered Nurse, you will deliver skilled nursing care and emotional support during overnight hours, responding to urgent needs and ensuring comfort, dignity, and peace at end of life.
This role is ideal for an experienced RN who thrives in autonomous practice and can make critical clinical decisions in real time. The position follows a consistent 7-on / 7-off night rotation (5 p.m.–8 a.m.), offering half the year off with full-time pay and no additional on-call requirements. All shifts begin and end from home.
During working nights, you will assess and manage urgent symptoms, provide skilled nursing interventions, and support families through crisis situations. You will work independently while coordinating with physicians and the hospice team to ensure continuity of care.

This is a high travel position requiring daily travel within the service area to provide care in homes, assisted living facilities, or nursing homes.
Hours
- 26 weeks per year, on for 7 nights, off for 7 nights
- Every other Monday to Sunday, 5 p.m. to 8 a.m.
- Training Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., for the first 2–4 weeks
Required Qualification
- Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate School of Nursing
- Current State License as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum 1 year clinical nursing experience
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and valid automobile insurance
- Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
