About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Scala Spark Engineer to join a global technology organisation building advanced analytics solutions for financial‑crime prevention. You will work with Big Data, AI and Google Cloud Platform, creating scalable data pipelines and contributing to a platform used by investigators, analysts and data scientists worldwide.

The team operates across Poland, China and the UK, following Agile Scrum with 2‑week sprints and 6‑week release cycles. We value transparency, collaboration and continuous improvement, and we maintain a friendly, supportive engineering culture.

 

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver Sprint backlog items and support the team in achieving Sprint goals
• Build and maintain data pipelines using Scala Spark in GCP
• Analyse large‑scale datasets using Spark Shell
• Use Airflow to validate and automate tests you create
• Collaborate with distributed development teams across multiple countries
• Follow Scrum practices and actively participate in Agile ceremonies
• Perform standard code maintenance: testing, refactoring, debugging
• Support Product Owners in refining technical backlog items
• Share knowledge within the team and across the wider organisation
• Participate in the full development lifecycle, including production releases

 

Requirements:
• Very good knowledge of Scala Spark
• Experience with GitHub
• Airflow and basic Python
• Jira and Confluence
• Experience working in Scrum
• Good communication skills in English
