Our Firmware RTOS team develops the mission-critical communications stack, operating on a dual-processor architecture. The team's objectives center on maintaining hard real-time determinism for the P25 LMR radio stack while integrating a massive suite of broadband connectivity modules without mutual interference.

Job Summary

We're seeking a Senior Embedded C/C++ Engineer with 7+ years of experience in RTOS. This is a unique opportunity to build a brand-new product from scratch and take complete ownership of the cellular integration and cross-processor connectivity logic for a next-generation device. You will be responsible for hardware bring-up, architecture design, and business requirements implementation, ensuring seamless 5G/LTE connectivity with reliable fallback to P25 LMR networks.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Contribute to architectural decisions, component selection, and hardware-software co-design.
  • Design and develop high-quality C/C++ code for RTOS-based and scheduler-based MCUs.
  • Lead feature development and drive prototypes to production-ready status.
  • Provide accurate estimates and development commitments based on the feature PRD.
  • Integrate and configure pre-certified 5G/LTE modem modules from early bring-up.
  • Develop connectivity manager logic to handle seamless fallback between 5G, LTE, and P25 LMR.
  • Design and document the IPC API contract between processors.
  • Optimise firmware for carrier and public safety certifications.
  • Collaborate with software, hardware, and RF teams.
  • Report project status and technical risks to management.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 7+ years of embedded development experience.
  • Strong expertise in C/C++ and RTOS.
  • Knowledge of ARM and RISC-V microcontroller architectures.
  • Experience with hardware bring-up and reference boards.
  • Experience designing high-bandwidth, low-latency IPC.
  • Experience integrating cellular modems at firmware level.
  • Knowledge of I2C, SPI, UART and device driver integration.
  • Proficiency with Git, CMake, code reviews, and continuous integration.
  • Upper-Intermediate (B2) English level.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with 3GPP Release 16/17, MCPTT, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, UWB, GNSS.
  • Experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and soldering.
  • Experience with cellular logging and diagnostics tools.
  • Knowledge of RF signal processing or coexistence challenges.
  • Experience in embedded Linux development.
  • Experience using AI-powered development tools.
