Team description

Within the R&D Electronics Engineering division, the in-car software team focuses on the development of multimedia and cockpit software, aiming to improve user experience and deliver innovative solutions for Software Defined Vehicles. The team collaborates closely with other departments and global stakeholders to ensure software development from advanced stages to mass production.

Role Summary

As a Senior Specialist Software Quality Engineer, you will contribute to the testing and validation of frontend software for multimedia and cockpit systems. You will plan, design, and execute testing activities, support test automation, and ensure high standards of quality across the software development lifecycle in an embedded Linux environment. You will also coordinate testing activities across teams, support defect resolution, and drive improvements in quality processes and tools while mentoring junior testers.

Key Responsibilities

Derive test cases from requirements and set up test environments
Support definition and maintenance of test strategy with stakeholders
Develop automated tests and execute tests on SIL/HIL platforms
Report, analyze, and track defects in collaboration with development teams
Contribute to software process compliance and continuous improvement initiatives
Guide and mentor junior testers and ensure best practices are followed

Qualifications & Skills

Fluent in English
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
4–6 years of experience in software testing
Strong interest in automotive systems
Professional experience with software development and testing processes (system/software design, code reviews, testing, defect management)
Knowledge of methodologies such as ASPICE and ISTQB
Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python)
Experience in UI-related functional testing
Linux fundamentals and embedded environments knowledge
Understanding of software development best practices and process improvement
Willingness to travel for business
Category B driving licence or in progress

Additional Requirements (considered an advantage)

Experience with ALM tools (e.g., Jama, Codebeamer)
Experience with version control and collaboration tools (e.g., GitHub, Jira)
Experience with SIL/HIL testing environments and tools (e.g., CANoe, VTestStudio)
Experience with performance testing and hardware profiling
Knowledge of network and automotive communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, SOME/IP)
Familiarity with Generative AI technologies for test automation and analysis
