GitHub Enterprise Server (GHES) Administrator

We are looking for someone with strong experience in Linux, DevOps/system administration, and version control systems. The key requirement is previous hands-on experience with GitHub Enterprise Server in a self-hosted environment. This is important to avoid a long onboarding period (estimated up to 6 months). Candidates who have worked with GitHub or GitLab in a self-hosted setup are highly preferred.

The role will focus on:

  • Administering and maintaining the GHES platform
  • Supporting users with administrative requests
  • Managing and improving the version control environment
  • Collaborating with GitHub support and internal engineering teams
  • Ensuring system stability and performance

We are especially interested in candidates who have:

  • Strong Linux and networking fundamentals (including HTTP)
  • DevOps and system administration experience
  • Solid understanding of Git and version control systems
  • Experience from tech companies or VCS-focused teams (e.g. GitHub, GitLab, or similar environments)

Start: ASAP - if you can start on 50% initially that would be fine as well.
