DevOps Engineer (GitHub | Copilot | Migrations)

We are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in GitHub to support our customers in modernizing their development platforms. This role focuses on leading migrations from legacy systems and driving the successful adoption of GitHub Copilot and other GitHub capabilities.
As a trusted technical partner, you will collaborate closely with engineering teams, architects, and stakeholders to design, implement, and optimize GitHub-based solutions. You will play a key role in improving developer productivity, enabling DevOps best practices, and accelerating innovation through AI-assisted development.
Your Responsibilities
Lead and execute migrations from legacy source control systems (e.g., Azure DevOps, Bitbucket, GitLab, SVN) to GitHub
Design and implement scalable GitHub architectures (organizations, repositories, security models, access controls)
Configure and optimize GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipelines and automation
Drive adoption of GitHub Copilot through onboarding sessions, best practices, and enablement initiatives
Assess existing development workflows and recommend improvements aligned with DevOps and GitHub best practices
Implement security and compliance controls (secret scanning, code scanning, dependency management)
Collaborate with stakeholders to define migration strategies, timelines, and success metrics
Troubleshoot migration and integration challenges, providing hands-on technical support
Create documentation, playbooks, and reusable assets to support migration and adoption efforts
Requirements
Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, Platform Engineer, or similar role
Strong hands-on experience with GitHub (GitHub Enterprise Cloud/Server preferred)
Experience with repository migration tools and strategies
Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts, especially GitHub Actions
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Bicep, ARM)
Good understanding of DevOps practices, version control, and modern software delivery
Experience with GitHub Copilot or strong interest in AI-assisted development tools
Scripting skills (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python)
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in customer-facing environments
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences
