About Lekta AI

Founded in 2016 in Kraków, Poland, Lekta AI is a technological company working with major European banking, insurance, and telco enterprises. The company was set up with an ambitious goal of providing the best customer service in the world. Lekta stands out from the crowd of conversational AI companies because we combine technological expertise with domain-specific knowledge from contact center industry veterans. Through the use of our proprietary conversational neurosymbolic engine and backend integrations, our systems are intent- and context-aware, handling over 1.5 million conversations every month. Today, with offices in Poland and Spain, Lekta is rapidly expanding its business division to scale operations internationally.

About the role

Lekta is hiring a Platform / DevOps Engineer to own the infrastructure that carries our platform end-to-endruntime, IDE, and the layers beneath. You'll work across both public cloud and private cloud deployments, because the customers we serve span both. Infrastructure decisions in this domain land directly in product quality: sub-second latency, multi-tenant isolation, deterministic compliance, and inference cost at scale all live in your remit. The systems you design now will shape how Lekta scales for years to come.

We are building the next generation of conversational AI — a platform where the creator's experience is itself AI-native. Think of what Lovable did for app-building, applied to conversational agents: a visual IDE, a copilot that helps the user shape, refine and evolve the agent, and a runtime engineered to deploy what gets built into enterprise production. What makes the engineering genuinely hard is the combination our agents have to deliver simultaneously: fluent (natural language, real conversation), fast (sub-second on live voice channels), and reliable (predictable behaviour under real customer pressure, every time). Most stacks force a choice between two of those at the cost of the third. We don't, and that constraint shapes almost every engineering problem we work on.

AI is a power tool, and we treat it like one. Lekta engineers are encouraged — and equipped — to use AI deeply across their work: Claude Code, model APIs, copilot tooling. We invest in the accounts, tooling, and time it takes to get fluent with them. We don't measure people on lines committed; we measure on what gets delivered and how well it holds up in production. We are not an agentic-workflow company. AI generates; the engineer directs and reviews. Every change going out under your name has been read, understood, and signed off by you.

Responsibilities

  • Design, run and evolve Lekta's multi-tenant production infrastructure on Kubernetes across public and private cloud environments

  • Own the infrastructure for real-time conversational channels, where latency is part of the product spec

  • Build the routing, fallback, and reliability layer for inference workloads across multiple model providers

  • Run cost engineering for the platform — per-tenant attribution, budgets, and optimisation of inference and infrastructure spend

  • Establish observability that lets on-call engineers reason about agent behaviour, not just request timing

  • Own the CI/CD pipeline that protects production deploys, with quality and regression gates

  • Establish the compliance baseline for regulated enterprise customers — secrets, PII handling, audit trails

Qualities

  • Significant production experience running Kubernetes at meaningful scale

  • Multi-tenant SaaS architecture background, with a clear view on isolation and pooling trade-offs

  • Hands-on experience operating across both public and private cloud environments

  • Strong database skillsreplication, indexing, partitioning, tuning

  • IaC fluency and configuration-level networking depth (ingress, mTLS, service mesh, DNS) — debugged, not just read about

  • Articulated view on when to use managed services and when to self-host, grounded in both

  • Track record of shipping production work with AI in your daily loop, and reviewing what it produces

  • Real-time audio infrastructure (SIP / WebRTC / RTP), inference cost optimisation, or banking / fintech compliance is a plus

  • Fluent in English (B2) and Polish (C1); other languages are a plus

Why join us

  • Visible impact — your engineering decisions land in real customer experience, not in roadmap slides

  • Real ownership — few layers between you and production, and close work with engineering leadership and founders

  • AI-first workflow with company-paid toolingClaude Code, model access, IDEs of your choice

  • Flexible contract types (B2B / Employment Contract), work arrangements, and working hours

  • Remote, hybrid or in-office — from a location of your choice

  • Direct, low-bureaucracy, results-oriented culture; no micromanagement

  • Competitive salary, with an honest conversation about trajectory as Lekta scales

Strong emphasis on AI-assisted engineering practices and greenfield system design in a regulated, transactional environment. 🗂️ Requirements: 7+ years professional software engineering experience, Senior or staff-level system design experience, Strong JVM backend experience (Kotlin, Java, or Scala), Solid TypeScript frontend experience (React, Angular, or similar), Production experience with AWS, Deep understanding of VPCs, IAM, RDS, Lambda or ECS, Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Pulumi, Terraform, or CDK), Experience designing non-trivial distributed systems, Fluent English, Experience in regulated or transactional domains, Ability to work with US East Coast time overlap 📃 Skills: Kotlin, Java, Scala, TypeScript, React, Angular, AWS, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda, ECS, Pulumi, Terraform, CDK, Claude, Cursor, CI/CD, Python 🏢 Description: Vecten | Client: US-based, retirement plan administration | Remote (Poland-based) | Contract / B2B We are an AI-native data and technology partner for private capital and healthcare. Founded in 2010 and headquartered in Warsaw, we work with leading PE firms, VC funds, and healthcare organizations to build proprietary data infrastructure, deploy AI solutions, and drive AI-native transformation. Our clients manage a cumulative $210B+ in assets. Our average engagement runs five years. Our NPS sits above 80. We don't need to claim credibility — we can show it. We've also done to ourselves what we now do for clients. We've restructured our own company around AI — tools, policies, roles, delivery models. This isn't a pitch. It's a playbook we've already run, and we're hiring the engineers who will run it for others. - Financial Platform Rebuild - You'd be joining a small, senior team rebuilding a 401(k) plan administration platform from the ground up. The existing system was built and operated by a third party; the client is taking ownership and rebuilding it greenfield with a strong AI-native foundation. This is not a ticket-taking role. You'll sit in product conversations with business users, push back on requirements, propose architectural directions, and own end-to-end delivery from infrastructure to UI. The client is US-based with engineers on both coasts. Working hours need meaningful overlap with US East Coast (afternoon CET works well). What you'd be doing Designing and building the core platform: event processing for money math, plan configuration, eligibility rules, and the supporting services around them. Owning vertical slices end-to-end – AWS infrastructure, Kotlin backend, TypeScript frontend. Acting as a thought partner on architecture decisions still being made (IaC choice, service boundaries, data model). Interviewing internal subject-matter experts to translate domain knowledge into working software. Setting the bar for AI-native engineering practices – how the team uses Claude Code, Cursor, agents, and what good looks like. Logistics Engagement model: Contract via Vecten (B2B), initial 3–6 month commitment with strong likelihood of extension. Hardware: Vecten provides a managed, secured environment. Interview process: Vecten internal screen → tech screen with the client's tech lead → live coding session (likely screen-share, AI-assisted format) → culture call. Start: Ideally within 2–4 weeks. Must-have 7+ years of professional software engineering experience , with a meaningful track record of senior or staff-level work. Strong backend engineering on the JVM – Kotlin, Java, or Scala in production. Kotlin experience preferred; if you have strong Java/Scala and have shipped Kotlin on a side project, that works. Solid TypeScript on the frontend – React, Angular, or similar, enough to own UI slices without needing a dedicated frontend pair. Solid cloud infrastructure fundamentals – you've reasoned about networking, IAM, compute, and managed services for real systems and can defend the trade-offs. Architecture chops – you've designed non-trivial systems, can defend trade-offs, and are comfortable disagreeing when you think someone's wrong. English fluency – you'll be talking to business users and engineers daily. Strongly preferred AI-native fluency – you actively use Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent agents in your daily workflow. You can talk specifically about what you delegate, what you don't, and why. AWS in production – not just "deployed something once". Deep familiarity with VPCs, IAM, RDS, Lambda/ECS trade-offs on real workloads. IaC experience – Pulumi, Terraform, or CDK. Background in regulated or transactional domains – fintech, payments, healthcare, insurance, ERP, billing systems. Anything where audit trails, eligibility rules, and money math matter. Comfort working in greenfield ambiguity – you've been the second or third engineer on a platform before and know how to make progress when half the decisions aren't made yet. Nice to have Direct retirement / pensions / 401(k) experience – the unicorn profile. If you have it, lead with it. DevOps depth – you've owned CI/CD pipelines, observability stacks, and on-call rotations. Python data-stack background – likely to become relevant as analytics and reporting work comes online. What we're not asking for A specific number of years on Kotlin, AWS, or any one tool. We care about depth of judgment, not box-ticking. Front-end specialisation. You don't need to debate React Server Components – you need to ship working UI. Big-bank or HFT pedigree. This is retirement plan administration, not trading. Benefits Unrestricted AI Stack & Premium Gear: Fully paid licenses for Cursor, Claude Pro, etc. Work with a talented team redefining the global perception of Poland Flexible working hours and remote work options Comfortable office in central Warsaw with all essential tools Multisport card & private medical care A culture of feedback – evaluation meetings, mentoring, and career growth opportunities Frontier Engineering Culture: Build alongside elite engineers who are shipping systems that drive real investment decisions. Kalepa is building AI that can perform that work. We create professional-grade AI systems for insurers: software that can read, reason, decide, and act inside real workflows and operate over long-time horizons. Kalepa begins by augmenting professionals with the tools to succeed at their jobs. That earns us the right to learn from real decisions, capture decision traces, and automate what can be automated successfully over time. Our products are already in production with leading insurers, driving measurable outcomes and expanding across functions. The opportunity is far broader than any single workflow: to build the AI operating system for decision-making across insurance. For people who want to work on AI that matters, in a sector where correctness, trust, and real-world impact count, Kalepa is just getting started. Kalepa is backed by leading investors such as IA Ventures and Inspired Capital, and our team brings experience from Facebook, Palantir, Google, Amazon, McKinsey, Mastercard, and Uber. Our Values (This is important): Many organizations have a dusty list of corporate values that no one ever follows. Kalepa is not one of those companies. Our values are designed to unlock the potential of our employees. Success at Kalepa is bred from five core principles: Hustle and Determination - We hire people who take full ownership of their craft and relentlessly pursue excellence with speed and determination. We choose the hard problems and do not give up. This is the foundation of how we work and how we win. Deliver Customer Impact - We're obsessed with customer impact. Every feature, every line of code, every decision is measured against one question: does this help insurers make better decisions? If it doesn't drive speed, accuracy, or profitability for our customers, we don't build it. Meritocracy - We're building something exceptional, and that requires exceptional people and ideas. We have a high bar but we reward excellence with rapid growth. If you're the best at what you do, you'll thrive here. Transparency - We value honest, transparent communication over politics. We challenge ideas, not people. We say what needs to be said, even when it's hard. This is how we solve problems fast and find the truth. Experiment Relentlessly - Many of the problems we face have never been solved before. We tackle them by testing quickly, measuring rigorously, and iterating until we find the path forward. Speed of learning is our advantage. In addition to our NY office, we have remote employees speaking 10+ languages across the globe. But we invest in bringing our people together both for regional meetups and global offsites (2021 - Playa Del Carmen | 2022 - Rome | 2023 - Buenos Aires | 2024 - Lisbon | 2025 - Cartagena). Kalepa’s culture isn’t for everyone, and that’s ok. But for the people who are a fit, they can’t imagine working elsewhere. About the role: Salary range: $100k – $185k USD* We’re looking for strong backend engineers who love building reliable systems around fragmented, but high-value data. As part of the Core Backend team, you’ll work on the systems at the center of Kalepa: designing services, data models, pipelines, and evaluation loops. You’ll join a high-ownership team responsible for some of Kalepa’s most business-critical infrastructure. Your work will make our data more complete, our decisions more transparent, and our products even more valuable. You'll be right at home if you: Have 8+ years of software engineering experience. Embody hustle and grit, you're excellent at your craft and relentless in pursuing it. Take full ownership of your work and drive projects to completion with minimal oversight. Communicate proactively, surfacing blockers, asking the right questions, keeping stakeholders in the loop. Thrive on experimentation: you're comfortable testing ideas, measuring results, and iterating quickly on problems no one has solved before. Have strong fundamentals in system design, debugging, and problem-solving. Know Python (our main stack), though we're open to strong candidates from other OO backgrounds. Have experience with serverless technologies (Lambda, EC2), asynchronous workflows, and cloud environments. Are comfortable with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL. Bonus: experience with LLMs/generative AI, distributed systems. What you’ll get: Competitive salary (based on experience level*). Significant equity options package. Work with an ambitious, smart, global, and fun team to transform a $7T global industry. 20 days of PTO a year. Global team offsites (2021 - Playa del Carmen, 2022 - Rome, 2023 - Buenos Aires, 2024 - Lisbon, 2025 - Cartagena) Healthy living/gym stipend. Mobile phone bill stipend. About the role: Salary range: $80k – $165k USD* We are looking for smart engineers who love to code, seek challenging problems, and appreciate recognition for excellent work. As part of the Client Integrations team, you will work on the external-facing APIs that power our customers’ core workflows. Your day-to-day will involve designing and building API endpoints, improving database and query performance, and integrating with a wide range of third-party services. You’ll translate product requirements into reliable business logic, help diagnose and resolve customer issues, and contribute to making our platform faster, more stable, and easier to use. You'll collaborate with a global team of full-stack, data, ML, and DevOps engineers to build scalable backend solutions as we continue to grow. We're a small team where individual contributions have an outsized impact on both our technology and our business. You'll be right at home if you: Have 5+ years of software engineering experience, ideally with time spent building external-facing APIs or designing integrations with 3rd party systems. What you’ll get: Competitive salary (based on experience level)*. Significant equity options package. Work with an ambitious, smart, global, and fun team to transform a $7T global industry. 20 days of PTO a year. Global team offsites. Gym reimbursement. Phone reimbursement. Student stipend. * The salary range listed is an estimate and will vary based on a variety of factors. Final compensation will be determined during the offer stage based on relevant experience, performance during the interview process, and geographic location, and may therefore differ from the posted range.
