Design Engineer
Mid • Remote
24,000 - 29,000 PLN
Warsaw, Poland
At Authologic, we are revolutionizing identity verification by building the ultimate orchestration platform that aggregates KYC, AML, and digital IDs into a single, seamless API. We eliminate onboarding friction for global businesses, transforming complex verification flows into elegant, secure, and user-friendly digital experiences.
About the Role
We are looking for a rare breed: a solid Design Engineer who loves clean, robust code, but also possesses exceptional taste, style, and an eye for beautiful user interfaces.
We know this combination isn't common. Usually, you're either an engineer or a designer. We need a Design Engineer who bridges that gap—someone who understands that a button's logic and data flow are just as important as how it scales, moves, and feels to the user. Since you will have a direct impact on our product's success, we want you to have skin in the game through our RSUs program.
What we look for (Beyond the code)
Product Thinking: You don't just implement tasks from a Jira board. You understand why we are building a feature, how it impacts the user, and you proactively suggest better UX solutions.
Communicativeness: You can articulate your tech choices clearly and collaborate openly with both designers and backend peers in English and Polish.
Autonomy & Async Vibe: Working remotely means we trust you. You can articulate your tech and design choices clearly, documenting them or sharing quick ideas with the team asynchronously.
Conscientiousness & Craftsmanship: You take pride in your work. Diligence, attention to detail, and a high standard for pixels, performance, and smooth layouts are part of your DNA.
Your Technical Arsenal
Must-Have Skills:
Solid experience (or strong architectural understanding) of BDUI / SDUI (Backend-Driven / Server-Driven User Interface).
Strong command of Vue.js and TypeScript.
Deep understanding of TailwindCSS and semantic HTML.
Experience with PrimeVue (or similar modern UI Kits).
Languages: Professional fluency in both English and Polish is strictly required.
Nice-to-Have:
A knack for microinteractions & animations (GSAP, Motion, or CSS transitions) – the magic that makes an app feel alive.
What we offer:
Base salary + participation in the Authologic Inc. Employee Stock Option Program.
Remote-first culture with access to co-working spaces (we’re a remote organization, but we meet occasionally in the office and during our quarterly off-sites).
No Corporate BS: Direct impact on the product, flat structure, and quick decision-making.
What the process looks like
We value practical skills and direct communication. During the interview, we won't roast you on theoretical trivia. Instead, you'll jump to play.tailwindcss.com and just jam/code live with one of our founders to see how we think and work together.
How to Apply
Show us your craft. Send us a link to your portfolio or projects where your engineering skills and design taste shine brightest.

Our orchestration platform enables enterprises to verify users globally through a single API, connecting identity providers, banking systems, eID schemes, and verification services into one seamless experience. As we scale across financial services, fintech, gaming, telecom, and regulated industries, we are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer who can bridge the gap between enterprise customers and our engineering organization. This is not a traditional software engineering role, nor is it a theoretical consulting position. Inspired by modern, high-velocity tech delivery models like Snowflake, this role requires a unique hybrid of a heavy-hitting backend developer and an enterprise deployment specialist. You will work directly with some of Europe's most sophisticated organizations, helping them design, prototype, implement, and optimize identity and payment workflows that become critical parts of their core business operations. The Role As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will be the driving execution force behind enterprise customer onboarding and implementation. You are the ultimate bridge connecting deep technology with complex corporate business processes. You will own the technical delivery of our most strategic enterprise deals — from first architecture conversation through to production go-live. You will work directly with customer engineering teams, compliance stakeholders, and executive sponsors, and you will carry direct influence over Authologic's product roadmap through the feedback you bring back from the field. What You'll Do Lead Enterprise Implementations & Onboarding. Act as the primary technical delivery lead for enterprise customers during onboarding and implementation, taking full ownership of the production go-live. Design and oversee integration strategies for complex customer environments, ensuring compatibility with legacy enterprise systems. Guide customers from proof-of-concept through production deployment, mapping Authologic’s API directly into their internal business operations and user journeys. Build Prototypes & Accelerate Sales (Hands-on) Support strategic enterprise sales opportunities with high-level technical expertise. Develop rapid, production-grade prototypes and proof-of-concepts to unblock complex deals. Run hands-on technical workshops with customer engineering teams, including live integration sessions against the Authologic API — you should be comfortable writing working code in a customer environment. Participate in executive-level customer meetings where technical credibility and speed are critical to winning business. Design Identity & Payment Architectures Integrate Authologic into complex customer ecosystems including: - Identity & authentication platforms (MFA, Strong Customer Authentication); - Core banking infrastructure and advanced payment systems; - Fraud, risk, and transaction monitoring engines; - Mission-critical customer onboarding workflows; Design EUDI Wallet and eIDAS 2.0 compliant onboarding and authentication flows, advising customers on regulatory obligations and technical architecture ahead of the December 2026 and 2027 deadlines. Influence Product Direction Act as the voice of enterprise customers internally, bringing raw frontline feedback to our product teams. Translate complex corporate edge-cases and customer requirements into structured product feedback. Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to shape future platform capabilities, deciding where custom delivery ends and core product features begin. What We're Looking For: Technical Expertise 8+ years of software engineering, solutions architecture, or hands-on implementation experience. Strong backend engineering background with professional experience in Java, Kotlin, Node.js, or similar technologies. Deep understanding of APIs, webhooks, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems. Practical experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), Docker, and Kubernetes. Ability to write clean, efficient integration code live during technical workshops and debugging sessions under pressure. Identity & Financial Systems Experience Proven track record of working with regulated entities (Banks, Fintechs, Insurance, or Payment Providers). Deep understanding of how identity verification impacts broader business processes (onboarding, payment authorization, fraud mitigation). Required: hands-on experience with OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect and at least one of: Open Banking / bank API integration, payment infrastructure, or regulated onboarding workflows. Advantageous: familiarity with eIDAS 2.0, EUDI Wallet, OID4VP / OID4VCI, or European digital identity schemes. You take ownership of delivery outcomes, not just deliverables — you care whether the integration is live and performing, not just whether the documentation was handed over. You can navigate a large enterprise: architecture review boards, IT security teams, procurement, and compliance stakeholders are familiar terrain. You shift registers without effort — detailed technical discussion with a developer in the morning, executive summary with a CTO in the afternoon. What Success Looks Like Within your first 90 days: you have taken ownership of at least one active enterprise implementation and are the primary technical contact for that customer. Within six months: you have driven at least two enterprise customers from signed contract to production go-live, and you have run at least three pre-sales technical workshops that progressed deals forward. Within your first year: you have established repeatable integration blueprints that reduce average time-to-production, and your frontline feedback has directly shaped at least one core product decision. Location & Travel This role is fully remote. It requires regular travel to enterprise customer sites across Europe, typically 5-10 days per month. We will tell you exactly what that looks like in the interview process. What we offer Base salary + participation in the Authologic Inc. Employee Stock Option Program. Remote-first culture with access to co-working spaces (we’re a remote organization, but we meet occasionally in the office and during our quarterly off-sites). Good start-up vibes, ability to work with ambitious people, and access to the YC network via Authologic founders. We give you a lot of space and autonomy to take action – just tell us what you need! 🏢 Summary: Senior Software Engineer role focused on scaling architecture and evolving a single-team system into a robust multi-team, distributed environment. The position partners with technical leadership to drive architectural strategy, improve CI/CD and developer experience, and embed pragmatic security into the development lifecycle. It emphasizes high ownership from design to production in a growing engineering organization. 🗂️ Requirements: Expert-level JVM knowledge, Strong Kotlin proficiency, Experience designing distributed systems, Proven experience with systems architecture, Hands-on experience with CI/CD implementation, Experience integrating security into SDLC, Ability to lead technical initiatives end-to-end, Experience scaling engineering teams and architecture 📃 Skills: JVM, Kotlin, CI/CD, SSDLC, TSP, DistributedSystems, Architecture, Automation 🏢 Description: Senior Software Engineer (Scale & Architecture) Authologic is at an exciting inflection point. We are evolving from a tight-knit team of 12 into a scalable engineering organization. We don’t need a "General" to command people; we need a Technical Partner who leads by example and expertise. You will work directly with our CTO and Head of R&D to provide the architectural "fuel" needed for our next stage of growth. This isn't about climbing a ladder—it’s about having a seat at the table where technical strategy is shaped and taking real ownership of how we scale. Your Impact: Scaling the Engine: Lead the transition from a single-team flow to a multi-team architecture (decoupling, CI/CD evolution, and improving Developer Experience). High-Agency Ownership: You identify systemic bottlenecks before they become problems. You lead initiatives from technical design to production, ensuring we build for the future without losing speed. Pragmatic Security (SSDLC): Help us navigate compliance and certifications (like TSP) by building security into the DNA of our development process—focusing on smart automation, not bureaucracy. Collaborative Design: Act as a sounding board for the product team. You help shape features by balancing user needs with technical sustainability. What You Bring Expert JVM / Kotlin foundations: You are a seasoned engineer who understands the internals of the JVM. While we use Kotlin, your ability to master the ecosystem is what matters most. Systems Architecture: You have a track record of designing distributed systems that are both robust and easy to maintain. Low Ego, High Impact: You prioritize the best solution over being "right." You communicate complex technical trade-offs clearly to both engineers and business stakeholders. Experience with Growth: Ideally, you’ve seen an organization grow from a dozen to 50+ engineers and you know where the architectural "potholes" are hidden. What we offer Base salary + participation in the Authologic Inc. Employee Stock Option Program. 🏢 Summary: Lead UI/UX Designer role owning end-to-end product design, visual language, and design system for a learning and research product. You will turn ambiguous problems into clear UX flows and high-fidelity UI, collaborating closely with engineering to ship polished experiences. The role combines product design, brand identity, and rapid user validation with full ownership of quality and craft. 🗂️ Requirements: Proven experience in end-to-end UI/UX design for digital products, Ability to create UX flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI, Experience defining and scaling design systems with components and variants, Proficiency in Figma for auto-layout, prototyping, and system management, Experience collaborating closely with engineering for production handoff, Ability to conduct lightweight user research and rapid validation, Strong understanding of HCI principles and interaction design, Ability to define and maintain cohesive brand identity across product surfaces 📃 Skills: Figma, UX, UI, Prototyping, Wireframing, DesignSystems, Typography, Illustration, Branding, HCI, InteractionDesign, AutoLayout, UserResearch 🏢 Description: ABOUT THE ROLE We're looking for an expert UI/UX designer with outstanding taste and a bias for shipping to lead every visual and brand aspect of our product — from the core design system down to the last pixel. This is not a "pure artist" role. You'll work in a tight product team, iterate fast, and make hard trade-offs when reality demands it. You'll own the visual language of a product used by people who care deeply about learning and research. The expectation is high — you define what good looks like, and you hold that bar as the product grows. WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON Core product journeys Own end-to-end design for the most important product experiences — search and discovery, reading, notes, and collaboration. Turn ambiguous problems into clear UX flows, prototypes, and shippable UI. Design system Define and evolve the design system — components, variants, states — so the team can move fast without quality regressions as features multiply. Craft and details Raise the bar on hierarchy, interaction, motion, and micro-details so the product feels inevitable rather than assembled. Engineering collaboration Work in a tight shipping loop with engineering to land high-fidelity designs in production exactly as intended. User research Run lightweight user research and rapid validation when it meaningfully reduces risk — not as a process, but as a tool. Brand coherence Keep brand and marketing surfaces coherent with the product — visual language, typography, and key visuals. WHAT WE LOOK FOR Elite communication You set expectations accurately and live up to them. No surprises on timelines, scope, or quality. Deep resilience Feedback cycles, tight deadlines, tough discussions — you have a large buffer before stress impacts your output. No ego Your work gets better through collaboration. We're here to build something great, not to manage insecurities. Product mastery You understand what makes great software feel inevitable — clarity, hierarchy, consistency, motion, copy, and details. You've studied the best and can articulate why it works. Brand instinct You can define a visual identity that feels premium, coherent, and distinctly ours — and keep it consistent as the product scales. HCI fascination Deeply interested in human-computer interaction. Actively exploring AI-native interfaces and new interaction primitives that feel intuitive, not bolted on. Bonus Ex-founder experience. DESIGN STACK Figma for components, variants, auto-layout, prototyping, and design systems. Brand identity, guidelines, typography, colour, and illustration. Close collaboration with engineering for production handoff. Lightweight user research and validation. The stack isn't fixed — outcomes matter more than tools. DESIGN CULTURE Radical ownership You own the visual language and the bar. You decide what good looks like — and you're accountable for it. Ruthless simplicity We delete, simplify, and reduce. Every element must earn its place. Fast iteration Polished does not mean slow. We prototype, test, and refine quickly. Direct feedback Feedback is blunt, concise, and respectful. No politics. RECRUITMENT PROCESS Recruiter screening — a short intro call. 1-on-1 with the founder — a conversation about how you think and design. Design challenge (~2 hours) — onboard to the product, review what's working and what isn't, record a Loom and send it over. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Salary $90,000 – $120,000 depending on experience. Equity and profit share Core team members receive both equity and profit share as part of the compensation package. Unlimited PTO Use your own judgement — we won't count days. Real ownership No managers capping your authority. You own your work end-to-end, with the full trust of the team behind you.
