Test Automation Engineer (C#) (B2B)

Mid • Hybrid

120 - 160 PLN

Katowice, Poland

Responsibilities

We're looking for a Mid / Mid+ Automation Engineer to join the team building a checkout platform for merchants across Europe. Every release touches real money, so test automation isn't an add-on — it's how the team decides whether we ship.

  • Shape how we test a .NET product that lives entirely in Azure — from unit tests through API, end-to-end and performance

  • Write and maintain test suites in C# / .NET that run reliably in our Azure pipelines

  • Look after our BDD layer (Cucumber + Groovy) — keep scenarios readable for product and reliable in CI

  • Own performance and load testing in K6: realistic traffic models, regression runs, feedback to devs and architects

  • Cover the typical failure modes of a payment system — timeouts, retries, idempotency, partial failures

  • Support junior testers, raise the quality bar on test code, and lead grown-up conversations about risk — in payments a "low priority bug" can still mean lost revenue or a compliance problem

Qualifications

  • Computer Science degree or equivalent experience and at least 3 years in QA automation with a production track record

  • Hands-on with the .NET test ecosystem (xUnit / NUnit, SpecFlow or Reqnroll, Playwright or Selenium, RestSharp / WireMock .Net)

  • Good C#

  • Experience with Cucumber and comfort with Groovy step definitions (or honest willingness to ramp up — we have an existing BDD suite)

  • API testing (REST, async / event-driven) and performance testing with K6 (or strong JMeter / Gatling / Locust and willingness to move to K6)

  • Azure as a daily environment: Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, App Service / AKS / Functions, Application Insights as a real source of insight when things break

  • CI/CD, Git, Docker, Agile + Jira / Azure Boards; English at a comfortable working level

  • Fluency in Polish and very good communication in English

  • Availability to work in a remote/hybrid mode. Remote workers, we invite to the office once every month

    Nice to have

  • Prior exposure to payments / fintech (PCI-DSS, 3-D Secure, PSD2/SCA, tokenization)

  • Security testing basics (OWASP Top 10, API Top 10)

  • Chaos / resilience testing or contract testing (Pact)

  • IaC (Bicep / Terraform)

We expect you to be comfortable exploring product behavior, asking precise questions, working with APIs and databases, and contributing to automated tests where they bring real value. This role is a good fit for someone who can work independently, challenge unclear requirements, and help the team think about quality before development is finished — not only at the end.
