Description

The Mid-Level QA Engineer will join a product team delivering reliable, resilient, high-quality digital products. The role combines manual, exploratory, and automated testing while promoting a shift-left approach to quality. You will work closely with Developers, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to identify risks early, improve test coverage, and ensure quality throughout the product lifecycle. Hands-on Cucumber experience is essential; advanced Java development skills are not required.

Responsibilities

  • Design, maintain, and execute manual test scenarios using Gherkin and BDD principles
  • Perform functional, regression, exploratory, and end-to-end testing
  • Identify, investigate, document, and prioritize defects across development and production environments
  • Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated tests using Cucumber and Playwright
  • Build product-oriented automated tests with a strong focus on the end-user perspective
  • Continuously improve automated regression suites, test coverage, reliability, and maintainability
  • Work within a Java-based test automation environment using Java at a basic working level
  • Integrate and maintain automated tests within CI/CD pipelines
  • Prepare clear and actionable quality reports covering testing progress, risks, defects, and quality status
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and overall quality strategy
  • Promote a shift-left approach and help identify quality issues as early as possible
  • Participate in and facilitate quality-focused activities such as Bug Triage, 3 Amigos, and Quality Chapter sessions
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Developers, and other stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle
  • Share QA best practices and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in software testing or QA
  • Hands-on experience with Cucumber — mandatory
  • Practical experience creating, maintaining, and executing Cucumber-based tests
  • Strong understanding of Gherkin and BDD
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright
  • Experience with Jira and Xray for defect and test management
  • Basic working knowledge of Java and ability to work with Java-based test automation code
  • Experience with Jenkins and/or GitLab CI
  • Strong experience in both manual and automated testing
  • Experience creating product-oriented test scenarios
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Experience with CI/CD and shift-left testing practices
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and collaboration skills
  • Professional working proficiency in Polish and English
