MetTel is looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our QA Operations Testing team!

As a Software Development Engineer in Test, you will be part of our QA team working in an Agile Environment to ensure we release the software applications and features with the best quality possible along with continuous and fast quality improvement and delivery cycles.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be confident with leadership skills; able to work independently.
  • Perform functional, API, performance testing, usability testing, regression testing, security testing, etc.
  • Build test cases/suites design, develop automation scripts and framework. Apply black box and white box testing techniques.
  • Participate in test strategy, test cases/suites design, automation framework design strategy discussions with QA lead and other QA team members.
  • Participate in release management, responsible for the high quality of our product for whole Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Participate in defect management, responsible for reporting, analysis, tracking the defect with its full life cycle.
  • Develop and implement automation solutions for front-end and back-end systems

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 years hands-on experience in a QA role and experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, or foreign equivalent required.
  • Be passionate about Software QA Testing. Understanding the importance of testing during the software development process.
  • Automation testing (Selenium) and hands on functional testing including API, performance, usability, regression test, etc.
  • Hands-on development experience, deep understanding of one or more programming languages and OOP principles (C#/Java/Python/JavaScript).
  • Knowledgeable of continuous integration tools and build pipelines (CI/CD, TeamCity, Jenkins, Git)
  • Solid foundation in web application fundamentals, including development or testing experience and a keen understanding of web technologies.
  • Strong analytical skills. Have the ability to find the root cause of the problem.
  • Experience with test suites/test case
  • Experience in Release Management ensuring code deployments are released on time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience performing code scans/code review is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience of using JIRA Bug Tracking tools and Test Management tools.
  • Knowledgeable of application frameworks and/or front-end frameworks (.NET, React, Spring, Angular, Django) is preferred.
  • Experience writing code for back-end, API, or front-end testing is preferred.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to write clear anomaly reports.
  • Completed the ISTQB foundation level certification/ISTQB Agile Tester certification preferred
  • Knowledge of SQL is required.
  • Release management experience preferred.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Experience with Outsystems is a plus.

The salary range reflected is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $90,000 - $120,000 annually.
