📌 Software Engineer (Java) — Poland (Kraków)

We are looking for  Software Engineer (Java) on behalf of our client to join to the British multinational corporation, the largest retail chain in the UK.

Type of Work:Hybrid from Krakow 3 days

Technical Requirements (must have)

  • Around 6+ years of experience as a Software Engineer within the JVM ecosystem

  • Experience working in an Agile environment

  • Excellent understanding of the language and framework, with good working knowledge of the underlying abstraction layers

  • Ability to take a business problem and define the technical strategy within the team, create high-level designs, and lead implementation

  • Requires minimal direction or guidance and collaborates with SDEs across teams working on the same or similar business problems

  • Demonstrates exemplary behavior in design, delivery, code quality, and processes, setting standards for the team

  • Influences the team’s technical and business strategy by proposing novel approaches

  • Communicates ideas effectively, gathers feedback from stakeholders, and drives convergence to achieve the right outcomes

  • Proactively mentors team members and supports hiring activities

  • Ensures design or architectural deficiencies are addressed and simplifies integration with peer teams’ software

  • Consistently leads delivery of valuable features

  • Continuously proposes and drives process improvements

  • Helps elaborate requirements when necessary

Tech stack: Java 21, Spring Boot, Azure (AKS/Kubernetes), Terraform, Microservices, DDD, Event Sourcing, PostgreSQL, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Splunk, Spock, GitHub, Zendesk, JIRA, Miro.

Team Information

This is a hybrid role with up to 3 days per week at our Cracow office, when required.
