A Security Senior Staff Technical Solution Engineer is an architect-level role focused on the creation, proof of concept, trials, sales, and deployment of solutions based on Cohesity’s backup and security solutions. This is a demanding role as it requires knowledge of both backup/recovery solutions and security solutions that leverage these backup/recovery solutions.
The mission of the role is to help create, sell, and deploy world-class security solutions for Cohesity.
- You’ll need to explore, understand, and capture key customer requirements for backup/recovery security
- You’ll help to craft solutions that address these requirements
- You’ll discuss these solutions with customers, helping them understand how these Cohesity products meet their needs.
- You’ll support demonstrations, PoCs, Trials, and deployments of these solutions as well.
These security products consist of both proactive and reactive capabilities
- Our scanning products search backups for signatures matching known security threats leveraging internal and external feeds, while anomaly detection looks for unusual changes in recurring customer backups
- We support a range of related third-party applications for data classification and Data Security Posture Management (DSPM)
- We have created a best-in-class Cyber Intrusion response and recovery solution as well
This position needs to be an expert on all related Cohesity product capabilities. Expertise in data center design and practices -- as well as data protection, security distributed systems, and solutions at the web scale -- are essential.
HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME HERE:
- Present Cohesity technology (deep dive) to customer executives, technical leaders/experts and explain how it is applied in various use cases/scenarios
- Conduct discovery workshops with the customer to identify business objectives, document use cases/requirements, and operational constraints
- Create and execute product demonstrations, PoCs, and Trials to better help customers understand our product capabilities
- Provide technical information for RFPs/RFIs
- Provide technical review for all account team proposals
- Liaison with Product Management and Engineering to represent customer/field requirements and resolve specific issues
- 20% expected travel.
WE'D LOVE TO TALK TO YOU IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 12+ years of experience in IT in related areas
- Experience in these technical areas required
- Storage, Backup, Security Scanning, Security response and recovery, Virtualization, Linux CLI
- Additional experience highly desirable:
- Disaster Recovery/Business Continuance
- Database Protection and Recovery
- Distributed Systems
- Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Layer 2 Networking and Firewalls
- Scripting / Automation
- Excellent communication and project-related skills are also required
- Strong verbal communication/presentation skills
- Strong written skills and the ability to create documentation
- Self-starter with excellent organization and time management skills
- The ability to work cross-functionally and run meetings to achieve a plan
- The ability to handle projects and aim for a deadline

Disclosure Pursuant to Applicable State Equal Pay Transparency Laws - This position has a starting pay range as listed below. Actual salary depends upon many factors, including a candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience, location, and salary expectations, and therefore a starting salary at the low end, high end, or even above the stated range may be offered. This position may also be eligible for bonus compensation, commission (if in a sales function), and/or equity grants. Additionally, full-time employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive benefits framework, including health and wellness benefits, vacation, paid holidays and refresh days, 401(k) retirement plan, life and disability insurance coverages, and other benefits the Company may offer from time to time.
US Pay Range
$184,000—$230,000 USD

Cohesity employees who are within a reasonable commute (e.g. within a forty-five (45) minute average travel time) work out of our core offices 2-3 days a week of their choosing.
