Description

You will own and evolve the test strategy for one or more product areas, defining coverage and automation priorities. You’ll design, develop, and maintain reliable, maintainable automated tests in Java, including API tests with RestAssured, JUnit, and Spring Boot, and integrate automated quality gates into CI/CD pipelines. You will also design test solutions for AWS-based services (Lambda, S3), support exploratory/manual testing as needed, and mentor other engineers to improve QA practices.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the test strategy and test coverage for your product area

• Design and maintain automated tests across the testing pyramid using Java

• Extend test automation frameworks for reliability, speed, and maintainability

• Set and enforce quality standards; reduce flaky tests and technical debt

• Analyze automated test outcomes to distinguish product defects from framework issues

• Develop and maintain API test automation using RestAssured, JUnit, and Spring Boot

• Define testable requirements, acceptance criteria, and test specifications with engineering and product

• Design test solutions for AWS services including Lambda and S3

• Integrate automated testing and quality gates into CI/CD pipelines

• Support exploratory and manual testing when appropriate

• Mentor QA and engineering team members

• Provide reporting on quality, test coverage, and release readiness

• Promote QA practices and contribute to the wider QA community

Requirements

• 5+ years in software quality engineering; 3+ years hands-on test automation with Java

• Strong API testing automation experience (RestAssured, JUnit, Spring Boot)

• Experience building/extending test automation frameworks

• Strong understanding of web applications and modern software development

• Working knowledge of Git and GitHub

• Clean-code practices and experience reviewing code

• Working knowledge of Docker

• Hands-on CI/CD and DevOps practices, including automated quality gates

• Experience with AWS and cloud-based environments

• Experience working in cross-functional Agile teams

• Experience mentoring or technically supporting other engineers

• Understanding that quality is a shared responsibility

• Strong written and spoken English
