Description

Senior Test / Automation Engineer responsible for designing and executing comprehensive test strategies to ensure high reliability and quality. You will build automation frameworks for web UI, develop API test suites, run performance/load testing, and validate results using SQL. You will collaborate with development, product, and DevOps to embed quality throughout the SDLC and CI/CD lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for web applications using Selenium and/or Cypress

  • Build and execute API test suites with Postman and SoapUI (functional, regression, contract testing)

  • Lead performance and load testing with JMeter; analyze results and address bottlenecks with engineering teams

  • Write and optimize SQL queries for data validation, test data setup, and backend verification

  • Manage test planning, defect tracking, and test cycle reporting in JIRA; maintain QA metrics and release readiness dashboards

  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines with developers and DevOps

  • Perform root cause analysis on defects, document findings, and drive quality improvements

  • Define QA best practices, contribute to test strategy documentation, and mentor junior QA engineers as needed

Requirements

  • 8+ years of hands-on software testing experience with strong automation focus

  • Proficiency with Selenium WebDriver and/or Cypress for end-to-end UI automation

  • Solid API testing experience with Postman (collections, environments, Newman) and SoapUI (functional and security testing)

  • Demonstrated expertise with JMeter for performance/load/stress testing and interpreting test results

  • Strong SQL skills for test data management and result validation

  • Hands-on experience with JIRA for test case management, defect tracking, sprint ceremonies, and QA reporting

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar) and integrating automated tests into build workflows

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
