Role: Mid/Senior Data Engineer (Full Remote in Poland)

Description

Join a team building modern data platforms from scratch, including Data Lakes, Data Lakehouse, and cloud data warehouses on Databricks or Snowflake. Work on data migrations supported by AI and help automate repetitive tasks while focusing on decision-making and problem solving. You will influence the direction of the team’s data engineering platform and practices.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve data platforms such as Data Lake, Data Lakehouse, and cloud data warehouses
• Implement AI-supported data migration workflows
• Design and maintain data pipelines with workflow orchestration (e.g., Airflow, Dagster, dbt, native platform workflows)
• Apply data warehouse loading processes and layered architecture
• Model data using techniques such as Kimball and Data Vault
• Set up data testing using dbt tests and/or Great Expectations
• Support data quality and governance with lineage and data cataloging concepts
• Document solutions and independently manage tasks and priorities

Requirements

• 2–4 years experience (Mid) or 4+ years experience (Senior)
• Strong knowledge of Databricks or Snowflake
• Strong SQL and Python
• Knowledge of Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MS SQL
• Fundamentals of data warehouse loading processes and layered architecture
• Knowledge of data modeling techniques (Kimball, Data Vault)
• Knowledge of data testing approaches and at least one tool (dbt tests or Great Expectations)
• Understanding of data lineage and data cataloging
• Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration (Airflow, Dagster, dbt, or native schedulers)
• Basic knowledge of Azure or AWS for data processing
• Ability to work with Git repositories
• Ability to create documentation for the solutions you build
• Independence in owning tasks, their status, and priorities
• Curiosity and strong diagnostic skills for data processing problems
• Openness to using AI tools (e.g., Claude, GitHub Copilot)
• Willingness to understand the business context of the data
