Description

The Business Architect defines technology, application, integration, and data standards for a business domain and aligns them with enterprise principles. The role creates target architectures and transformation roadmaps, evaluates digital initiatives for architectural fit, and proactively runs proof-of-concepts—especially for cloud and AI—to deliver measurable business value. You will guide project teams through architectural decisions across the full initiative lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Define technology, application, integration, and data standards for the assigned business domain

• Collaborate with business leaders and Digital teams to identify opportunities and translate operational needs into technology roadmaps

• Build target architectures and transformation roadmaps focused on application simplification and cost optimization

• Evaluate digital initiatives and candidate solutions for fit, scalability, and integration compatibility

• Monitor market trends (Cloud and AI) and initiate proof-of-concepts for valuable technologies

• Guide project teams through architectural decision-making across the initiative lifecycle

Requirements

• 5–8+ years of IT experience with substantial time in architecture, solution design, or application management closely tied to business domains

• Familiarity with enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, MES, LIMS, QMS)

• Knowledge of standard architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF or equivalent)

• Experience with digital process automation and data-driven applications, including identifying practical AI use cases

• Strong business-process understanding and ability to evaluate third-party tools (SaaS/COTS)

• Fluent English with strong stakeholder management in international/matrixed settings
