Description

Design and build APIs and SDKs, establish API standards, and create a gateway layer that fronts platform services to remove direct access to fragmented components. Drive secure authorization using RBAC/ABAC, manage identity and token flows, and implement multi-cloud integration across Azure and GCP. Ensure test-first CI/CD delivery and end-to-end observability using OpenTelemetry and Grafana stack.

Responsibilities

• Design and build APIs and SDKs using Python/FastAPI on top of distributed platform services
• Define REST/async API design standards, versioning strategies, and contract testing practices
• Develop client libraries for consistent, reliable platform service access
• Architect and maintain a gateway layer to front services and remove direct fragmented access
• Implement orchestration and routing patterns that converge independent services into one product
• Implement RBAC/ABAC least-privilege authorization at the gateway level
• Manage identity and token flows, including managed/workload identity and delegation
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions with test-first delivery
• Produce clear service contracts and documentation
• Integrate services across Azure and GCP using private endpoints for secure service-to-service communication
• Implement observability with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, and Grafana
• Debug and tune production performance using metrics, traces, and logs

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in platform or software engineering, with expert-level proficiency in Python
• Hands-on experience building APIs and SDKs on top of distributed services, including client libraries
• Proficiency in FastAPI, REST/async design, API versioning, and contract testing
• Expertise in designing gateway architectures, including orchestration and consistent routing
• Knowledge of IAM concepts: RBAC/ABAC least-privilege, managed/workload identity, token delegation flows
• Hands-on experience with Azure and GCP, including private endpoints and multi-cloud integration
• CI/CD and automation experience using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions
• Familiarity with observability tooling: OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, Grafana
• Ability to unify a fragmented service landscape into one coherent product
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher
