Description

You will work with product owners and architects to design and modernize database structures with privacy and security as key priorities. The DBA is responsible for ensuring database design aligns with product owner priorities and UDI’s long-term direction, while maintaining critical database competence. You will also lead requirements and support for new databases, upgrades, and migrations, including operational documentation and backup/restore and disaster recovery routines.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with product owners and architects to define database structures with privacy and security in mind; actively drive database and data structure modernization in UDI

• Ensure database design and requirements align with product owner priorities and UDI’s long-term direction; retain critical database expertise

• Act as a requirement owner for new databases and assist in upgrade and migration processes where the database platform is central

• Set expectations for, develop, and maintain operational documentation for UDI’s database platform, including routines and guidelines for database operations and administration

• Maintain overview and control of backup, restore, and disaster recovery routines (whether managed by an operations vendor or UDI’s DB platform team)

• Support teams and projects where natural, and contribute to other section tasks as needed

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in the listed duties (Seniorrådgiver level)

• Bachelor’s degree level education in an IT-related field; alternatively, more than 12 years of relevant documented experience

• Solid hands-on experience operating and administering both on-prem and cloud-based databases

• Documented experience operating and administering databases (preferred: Oracle, Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB)

• Preferably experience from high-stability, performance, security, and automation environments

• Ability to be security-authorized at level BEGRENSET under the Security Act

• Good Norwegian communication skills (written and verbal)
