Mid-Level Full-Stack Software Engineer

Mid • On-site

10,000 - 14,000 PLN/yr

Quick Facts

  • Role: Mid-level Full-Stack Software Engineer

  • Product: In-house Transport Management System (TMS)

  • Stack: Python/Django backend, React frontend, Flutter driver app; releases roughly every week

Description

You’ll own features end to end for a mature Transport Management System used by dispatchers, drivers, and finance.

Work spans Django models and migrations, REST APIs, React/MobX UI, testing, release notes, and production incident fixes.

You’ll also build and maintain integrations with telematics, routing/maps, ferry/tunnel operators, tachographs, and accounting systems.

Responsibilities

  • Build features end to end: backlog ticket → Django models/migrations → REST endpoints → React/MobX UI → tests → changelog.

  • Integrate external systems over REST, SFTP, and webhooks (telematics, routing/maps, ferry/tunnel, tachograph DDD files, Microsoft 365, accounting).

  • Support production health: investigate Sentry errors and user incidents using a staging copy, fix root causes, prevent regressions.

  • Improve performance on a large PostgreSQL database by profiling slow queries, designing indexes, and moving work to Celery background tasks.

  • Maintain testing: Django unit tests and Cypress end-to-end tests for user flows.

  • Participate in merge-request reviews on GitLab and help keep the codebase coherent as it grows.

  • Clarify requirements before building; collaborate with dispatchers/finance when needed and propose simpler solutions.

  • Modernize responsibly while keeping feature delivery: upgrades of Python/Django/React and TypeScript adoption.

  • Stay Agile: provide short progress updates, communicate blockers, and re-plan as priorities change.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of professional software development experience with Python and Django in production.

  • Relational database skills, preferably PostgreSQL: data modeling, SQL, query plans, indexes, and safe migrations on live data.

  • React experience and a state-management library (MobX/Redux or similar) with modern JavaScript.

  • Third-party API integration experience (REST; ideally SOAP), including OAuth2/bearer tokens/API keys and robust retry/error handling.

  • Experience with asynchronous/scheduled work using Celery or an equivalent task queue.

  • Daily comfort with Docker, Git, and CI pipelines (GitLab CI or similar), including debugging failing pipelines.

  • Strong testing habit: unit tests for logic and end-to-end tests for flows.

  • Ability to navigate and improve a large existing codebase; prefer focused changes over rewrites.

  • Good English (B2/C1) for tickets, reviews, and communication.

  • Clear verbal and written communication for explaining trade-offs.

  • Ownership and proactive mindset (identify issues before users report them).

Benefits

  • Employment contract (B2B contract also negotiable).

  • Growth through individual training programs and language courses.

  • Private medical care and life insurance coverage for you and your loved ones.

  • Transportation to work from Rondo Rataje; internal gym and sports facilities.

  • My Benefit Program to choose benefits based on your needs.

  • Buddy support and onboarding meetups during your first weeks.
