Description

You will own the technical responsibility for deploying and evolving an enterprise-grade open-source IoT platform for on-site utility/media management. The platform integrates building installation data (HVAC, lighting, energy meters, air-quality sensors) to enable automation, reporting, and business decision-making for customers. The work focuses on iterative, fast development based on real market and customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and configure the platform as the central monitoring and control system
• Build and maintain data processing rules (Rule Engine), device integrations, and client dashboards
• Integrate the platform with device-layer protocols: Modbus RTU/TCP, BACnet IP/MSTP, MQTT, LoRaWAN, Zigbee
• Develop APIs and integrate with external systems (ESG/EPBD reporting systems)
• Collect and prioritize customer and sales team requirements; convert them into a platform roadmap
• Optimize performance, scalability, and security as the number of buildings and locations grows
• Collaborate with automation engineers on selecting measuring and actuating equipment aligned with the platform architecture
• Support pilot deployments and iterate quickly based on feedback

Requirements

• Experience designing and developing IoT systems with broker architecture (MQTT, CoAP, HTTP), device integration, and telemetry processing
• Backend programming skills (Java, JavaScript/Node.js, or Python) to create rules, integrations, and microservices
• Knowledge of building automation protocols: Modbus (RTU/TCP), BACnet (IP/MSTP)
• Knowledge of time-series databases (e.g., Cassandra, PostgreSQL, InfluxDB) and REST API work
• Experience deploying and maintaining systems in the cloud or dedicated infrastructure using Docker
• Product mindset to translate customer and market needs into concrete system functionality
• Independence, initiative, and ability to quickly learn new platforms and tools
• English knowledge to work with technical documentation
