Hands-on role to build and optimize a mature SaaS platform for digital asset management (DAM). You will develop backend services with PHP/Laravel and frontend components with React/TypeScript, integrating and processing large media collections and external storage/platform providers. You will also modernize legacy JavaScript/jQuery code and improve performance and scalability.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain backend services in PHP and Laravel with performance and scalability in mind.
  • Develop and maintain frontend components using React and TypeScript.
  • Integrate and optimize data flows for large media collections (processing, conversion, and retrieval).
  • Build and maintain integrations with external systems and storage (SFTP/FTP, S3, cloud providers, YouTube, Dropbox, Google Cloud, social media).
  • Implement archival and download features, including multi-file export as ZIP/TAR and template-driven format conversion on download.
  • Work on search over metadata and custom attributes; contribute to plugin/extension systems and a Chrome extension.
  • Support and modernize legacy frontend code (JavaScript and jQuery) while developing new modules on the updated stack.
  • Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, performance tuning; apply containerization and caching (Docker, Redis/Valkey).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver client-facing portals with configurable CMS-style interfaces.

Requirements

  • Minimum three years of commercial experience with PHP/Laravel and React in production environments.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript; familiarity with legacy JavaScript/jQuery.
  • Experience with Docker and caching using Redis or Valkey.
  • Strong understanding of web performance, scalability, and optimization for large datasets and file collections.
  • Familiarity with integrations to cloud storage and external platforms (S3, FTP/SFTP, Google Cloud, YouTube, Dropbox) and building reliable import/export pipelines.
  • Practical knowledge of search by metadata/custom attributes and handling file conversions on download.
  • Ability to work across legacy and modern codebases and communicate technical decisions clearly.
  • Nice to have: exposure to Go, Next.js, Vite, basic Kubernetes knowledge, and practical experience using the AWS console.

Benefits

  • Work on a mature SaaS product handling large-scale media libraries with a focus on performance engineering.
  • Remote work arrangement.
  • Professional development and collaboration with experienced engineering teams.
  • TEAL culture with an emphasis on relationships and a non-corporate atmosphere.
  • Agile approach with low bureaucracy.
