Description

You will join a banking data platform team to build modern streaming and database solutions. The role combines analysis and development: translate business needs into technical implementations, map data from source systems to the target database, and implement technical specifications. Work covers Kafka topic design, MongoDB/GraphQL/Iceberg modeling, Spring Boot microservices, Kafka Connect connectors, and observability for event flows.

Responsibilities

• Meet with analysts and IT teams to understand business processes

• Create functional and technical documentation (data diagrams, field mappings)

• Design Kafka topics (naming, partitioning, Avro schemas)

• Define MongoDB collection structures, GraphQL models, and Iceberg table definitions

• Build Spring Boot microservices

• Implement a GraphQL layer exposing data from MongoDB

• Configure and develop Kafka Connect connectors

• Implement metrics, logging, and tracing for event flows

• Diagnose replication issues and data inconsistencies

Requirements

• 3+ years of commercial experience working with Apache Kafka in production environments

• Proficiency in Java and the Spring Boot framework

• Practical experience configuring and developing Kafka Connect connectors

• Experience designing MongoDB document schemas

• Experience implementing GraphQL services

• Experience with monitoring/observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry

• Experience analyzing business requirements and creating documentation

• Strong communication skills to collaborate with business and IT teams

• Basic Python knowledge

• Basic understanding of Apache Iceberg table format
